I think this was a good experience because we write about things we like, experiences and our favorite things. Besides, it’s amazing to write them in English because we can feel this language is closer to us, since we’re writing about ourselves. For these reasons, I don’t believe this blog activity should disappear in the future. In terms of my writing skills, I feel they have improved. Writing this blog was a weekly activity, so you had to do it constantly; that’s why you got familiar with some expressions, connectors and words. Of course, knowing more words and repeat them gave us the chance to write better. If I could include something into this project, I’d include something related to creativity. I know that English is very important, but as journalists, we must learn how to attract people by designing a good layer to read stuff that not everybody’s going to be willing to read. The subject that I’ve most enjoyed this semester was Radio classes. It is one of the areas on which I intend to grow in the future, since it is very fun and a matter of practice and passion. Mainly, in Radio classes you have to prepare informative reports that you have to read in front of a microphone in the radio studios, trying to pronounce everything perfectly. The main contents that I’ve covered on Radio have been the writing of radio reports, which, unlike the others, are more concise. Besides, I’ve learnt breathing and reading techniques in different contexts, so that when reading, dispatching or leading the news, everything could be understood. I like the subject because I work in a community radio , so I know and appreciate the atmosphere inside it.
